Save an Instagram video on iPhone

  1. 1In the Instagram app, open the Reel, video or photo post.
  2. 2Tap the share icon and choose “Copy link”.
  3. 3Open this page in Safari, paste the link into the field above and tap Download.
  4. 4Pick a quality in the preview, tap “Download Video” or “Download Photo”, then tap Download when Safari asks.
  5. 5Find the file in the Files app: Safari keeps it in the Downloads folder.

Where the file goes on iPhone

Safari saves downloads to the Downloads folder in the Files app, either in iCloud Drive or on your iPhone, depending on Safari's settings. While a file is downloading, the download button next to the address bar shows its progress.

To move a video or photo into the Photos app, open it in Files, tap the share icon and choose “Save Video” or “Save Image”. After that you can delete the copy in Files.
