Who runs Reelora
Reelora is run by Reelora, based in the US. You can reach us through the contact page.
Links you paste
When you paste a link, our server uses it to look up that public post on Instagram. The post's details are kept for 10 minutes so repeat requests are fast. Our logs record the post's code, whether the lookup or download worked and how long it took — never your IP address or anything else that identifies you — and are deleted automatically as newer ones replace them.
Downloads
Files come from Instagram's servers and pass through ours straight to your device. We don't keep copies, and we don't publish them anywhere.
Reporting a problem
If you press "Report this problem", we record the post's code and what went wrong — not the rest of the link, and not your IP address — and may get an alert about it.
Your IP address
Our server uses your IP address only for rate limits, so that no one visitor can overload the service. It's kept only in memory — never written to our logs or to disk — and never sent to Instagram: lookups come from our server (or a proxy it uses), not from you. The counts behind these limits reset after at most 10 minutes.
Messages you send us
If you use the contact form, the name, email address, topic, subject and message you enter are emailed to us through Resend, our email provider, and kept in our mailbox so we can reply. We don't use them for marketing, and we delete them if you ask.
On your device
Reelora itself sets no cookies. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell visits apart; they last up to two years. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage and never sent to us. The contact page uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots; it may look at signals from your browser to do that.
Services we use
- Hosting (Cloudflare, or the company that runs our server) handles every request, including your IP address, to deliver the site.
- Google Fonts: your browser loads the site's fonts from Google, which receives your IP address.
- Google Analytics counts visits and shows which pages are used. Google receives your IP address, details about your device and browser, and the pages you visit.
- Resend delivers contact-form messages to us.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks for bots on the contact page.
- Proxy providers, when we use them, carry our server's lookups to Instagram. They never see your data.
- ntfy, when we use it, sends us alerts when lookups or downloads fail. Alerts name posts, never visitors.
- Instagram (Meta) is where posts and files come from. It sees requests from our server, not from you.
Each of these handles data under its own privacy policy.
Analytics, and no ads
Reelora uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and tools people use, so we can improve the site. It runs no advertising. To opt out, block cookies for this site, use a content blocker, or install Google's opt-out add-on.
Your rights
To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, send us a privacy request.
